A few months back I drove up to Chicago to meet up with The Cool Kids for the late summer cover of Substream. We did the shoot at a bowling ally (you can see the balls and lanes in the back) for the atmosphere and surrounding locations. Since I had never met the guys before things started out a little formal with the shots. I really don’t like cold shoots, even if I get to hang out with the artist for like 15-20 minutes before a shoot, things start more fluid. As you can see we got to joking around more with the shots and above is my favorite. The guys are real chill and we worked pretty well together I feel. The final cover for the mag is on Substreammusicpress.com but here is a mock I was a fan of first. I did all of the “effects” to add something to the arcade gun game idea…they remind me of lightsabers.
